Finally tournament season is set to begin. As we move forward with the first season of the CWT we would like to thank everyone who is signing up to participate and a huge thanks to our sponsors. We know it's been tough this spring and we appreciate the support.
With this tournament comes some special circumstances. The morning of the tournament we will have cones set up to indicate areas where no more than 5 teams at a time will stand maintaining safe social distancing. There will be several areas setup so we can be heard during the rules meeting and so you can ask questions. It is required you wear a mask while you interact with CWT staff and other participants. At the conclusion of the rules meeting we ask you go to your vehicles and have one person in your truck and one in the boat and line up for AIS inspection.
While in line for the inspection CWT staff will hand out boat number packets and tournament measuring boards and complete live well checks. This will be when you find out your boat number and starting position. At that time we will collect money for side pots for BIG FISH ($20 per team Presented by Bass Pro Shops) and Calcutta ($20 per team). The teams that enter the big fish side pot will be eligible to win big fish each day and Bass Pro Colorado Springs is adding a $250 gift card to each day. Teams that sign up for Calcutta will be split into groups of 4 or 5 teams (depending on the number of participating teams) this will be a Saturday only event where the top teams weight wins that groups money. Payout for the Calcutta side pot will be Sunday morning at inspections. 100% payback for both side pots.
At the AIS inspection point we need to minimize the inspectors exposure to our participants. We need the participant in the boat to handle the inspection and the participant in the truck remains in the truck. After launching your boat we ask the person parking the truck to go straight to their boats and to avoid any gathering in the parking area or on the dock.
At the end of each day we need the loading and inspection procedures to be the same as in the morning. One person remains in the boat and the second retrieves the truck. After loading the boat we ask the person in the truck remain in the truck all the way through the AIS inspection process and the person who loaded the boat remain in the boat and assist with the inspection. After the inspection is completed we ask if you choose to interact with others you remain in groups with no more than 10 people present and wear your masks.
There will be a station set up to allow CWT staff to view phones for pictures and video verification's. This will also be where one person from your team after AIS inspection will bring the score sheet to be submitted and signed for that days catch. At that location there will be cones set up to mark safe social distancing.
We understand this is different then what we are used too. Please respect the process so we can establish a smooth flowing event. This process may not end this year and forming a standard will make each tournament go smoothly.
